The BayAway 4 BR Waterview Home in DT Port Orchard

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The main floor is nicely decorated, big sectional couch and large tv, we appreciated having 2 sets of washers and dryers, there are plenty of bedrooms (one of the bedrooms doesn’t have a useable closet) and plenty of space that you shouldn’t feel crowded, Melissa was great to work with and responded quickly. If you are expecting a quiet spot, perhaps you should look elsewhere. The road noise was very loud starting at 5:30 a.m. Nothing the owners can do, but be aware. It was too noisy to have a decent conversation on the big deck. The home could use some updates and deep cleaning.

This was the perfect house for our big group. There was plenty of space, plenty of parking, some fun board games, a great BBQ for home cooked meals, and a fabulous deck for enjoying some fresh air. It is a close and easy drive to Poulsbo and so many other beautiful areas for exploring.

The home was lovely, spacious, well stocked and clean. We had good communication with the hostess. Honestly, no complaints except that there was a lot of traffic noise when sitting on the deck. Other than that, 5 star!

The Bay Away was the perfect location for our trip to Washington. I spent a lot of time researching things to do and areas to stay before booking this property and I am so glad that I did. Our group of two adult couples and two teenagers had plenty of room to spread out inside and outside the house. The place is so cute and had great views of the Sinclair Inlet and mountains beyond from the deck. The decor put us in a perfect mood for enjoying our vacation. The hosts were super helpful and provided a great guidebook.Most of our group had not been to Washington before, and this property was the perfect launching point for our adventures. A short stroll into town took us to the cute main street of Port Orchard with shops and restaurants. The foot ferry to Bremerton was only a 15 minute walk and it was easy to catch the ferry to Seattle from there.Did I mention location? From Port Orchard it was easy to get to all of the outdoor areas we wanted to see - Olympic National Park, Mount Rainier, Deception Pass, the Pacific Ocean, and towns like Poulsbo, Port Townsend, and Coupeville. We saw so many wild creatures! There were places to see otters, seals, eagles, osprey, herons, pheasant, and quail nearby. If you love tidal pools, make sure to check out Manchester State Park, which was only 15 minutes away.I highly recommend The Bay Away for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation. This was one of the top places we have ever rented.
